Why Damp Doctor Sussex Was Created
Property owners are often given conflicting advice about damp. One person says rising damp, another recommends ventilation and somebody else suggests painting over the mark. Damp Doctor Sussex was created to offer a more straightforward service: listen carefully, assess the evidence, explain the likely cause and recommend work only where it is considered necessary.

Meet the People Behind Damp Doctor Sussex

I began my journey at sixteen through a Youth Training Scheme that introduced me to a broad range of multi-trade skills. After starting out in sprinkler fitting within the fire-safety sector, I moved into groundworks and all aspects of the building trade, gaining hands-on experience across the full spectrum of how homes are built, repaired, and maintained.
My career later took me into major works within social housing, where I developed a deep understanding of property condition, long-term defects, and the importance of keeping homes healthy and safe. Over time, I realised my real passion was helping people look after their homes properly and providing a service they could genuinely rely on.
That’s why I chose to build a family-run company focused on delivering a trusted, consistent approach across East Sussex and Kent. For me, it’s simple: treat every home with care, every client with respect, and always prioritise long-term wellbeing over quick fixes.

I began my career in the building trade at 21, starting out as a kitchen designer for a nationwide company. I quickly progressed into a Business Development role within the same organisation, before moving into a management position with a national builders’ merchant. Those years gave me a strong understanding of how the industry works from both a technical and customer-focused perspective.
I later stepped into social housing as a supervisor for a reactive works team, where I saw first-hand how important healthy, well-maintained homes are for everyday living. Alongside my career, I renovated several of my own properties, which only strengthened my passion for creating safe, comfortable spaces.
With that experience behind me, the next step was always to work for myself. Today, I bring a family-run, caring, and understanding approach to every job I take on — offering a service built on trust, consistency, and genuine pride in keeping homes healthy.

After leaving school, I completed a Diploma in Electrical Installations, which gave me a solid technical foundation in the trade. I then went on to complete an apprenticeship in Multi-Trades, building practical skills across a wide range of disciplines.
With that experience behind me, I chose to join the family business, where I now put those skills into practice every day — helping deliver a reliable, trusted service and supporting our commitment to keeping homes healthy.
